The Davis Vantage Pro 2 Weather Station includes two components: the Integrated Sensor Suite (ISS) which houses and manages the external sensor array, and the console which provides the user interface, data display, and calculations. The innovative integrated sensor suite combines the rain gauge, temperature and humidity sensor and anemometer all into one package - making setup easier than ever and improving performance and reliability.
The Wireless ISS and Vantage Pro2 console communicate via an FCC frequency hopping transmitter and receiver. This makes the Vantage Pro2 the first and only weather station in its class to use frequency hopping spread spectrum radio technology to transmit weather data wirelessly up to 1000' (300 m).
The console may be powered by batteries or by the included AC power adapter. The wireless ISS is solar powered with a battery backup. Skyview suggest the use of WeatherLink to allow your weather station to interface with a computer, to log weather data, and to upload weather information to the internet.
The cabled system ships complete with a 100' (30m) length of cable connects the outdoor ISS to the console; however this can be extended up to 1000' (300m) for unique installation instances.
